Doing Good: UAB Blazers changing names on their jerseys for Homecoming

The University of Alabama at Birmingham football team will be honoring patients at the Children’s Harbor Hospital this weekend by wearing special uniforms.

Instead of the player’s name being stenciled on the back -- each uniform will feature the name of a child at the hospital.

This is the second year that the UAB Blazers have done this to raise awareness and money for childhood cancer.

And, the team is picking the perfect weekend to make a splash like this -- since it’s also their homecoming game. Everyone will watching and rooting -- both for the team as well as for the kids in the hospital.
