Alex Trebec shares honest health update

ALEX TREBEK posted a very honest update on his battle with Stage Four pancreatic cancer yesterday.

He said he's "happy to report" that he's reached the one-year mark after his diagnosis, which is something that only 18% of people in his position get to see.

That's uplifting news, but Alex admitted there were some dark times. He said, quote, "I'd be lying if I said the journey had been an easy one. There were some good days but a lot of not-so-good days.

"I joked with friends that the cancer won't kill me, the chemo treatments will."

He added that he's struggled with "great pain . . . and sudden massive attacks of great depression that made me wonder if it was really worth fighting on."

BUT . . . he said that giving up "would've been a betrayal" to his fans, his "wife and soulmate" Jean, and God.

The TWO year survival rate is just 8% . . . but Alex said, quote, "If we take it just one day at a time with a positive attitude, anything is possible."
