Meat shortage at Subway?

Supply chain issues -- and an outbreak of avian flu – have led to a shortage of turkey at Subway locations around the country. The supply has been cut down after a bird flu outbreak forced the temporary closure of a processing plant. And some franchisees have said that it hasn't been easy to get ham or roast beef either since that closure. A Subway spokesperson said the company was working to "source meats from additional suppliers," but the company could run into further issues if more cases of the bird flu spread. The USDA reports that bird flu cases have been confirmed in 34 states, affecting over 37 million birds.
