Squirrel Causes A “Christmas Vacation” Moment In North Carolina Home: A scene from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” played out in a North Carolina home. A squirrel snuck into a Waxhaw home and made a beeline for the family Christmas tree. Mom Taylor Stading says the critter got in through a loose roof shingle, climbed through a sink pipe opening, and emerged in an upstairs bathroom. That’s when the family dog chased it and the squirrel took shelter in the tree. Taylor opened a window and finally got it to leave with a little nudge from a dust mop. See the Facebook Reels here.
