U.S. Agency Shares Halloween Safety Reminders: Halloween safety is tricky. Accidents from pumpkin carving rank as the number one Halloween injury each year, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. They advise safety should be the first priority in all your Halloween do-it-yourself crafts and the carving should be left to the adults. The agency also says baggy or flammable costumes should be avoided, and to use battery-operated lights or glow sticks instead of candles. Trip and fall accidents mostly come from long costumes.
