LA Chargers Head Coach Anthony Lynn Talks Motivating & Inspiring Players

Fresh off the Los Angeles Chargers win over the weekend against the Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Anthony Lynn called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Monday, September 9, to talk about how he motivates and inspires his players.

"When I got the job, I definitely had mentors and I reached out to them. They gave me pointers on how to be a head coach. One of the things that someone told me was have three points that you're going to say after a win or a loss. Write those down before the game. I tried that, it just doesn't work for me," Coach Lynn explained. "Because number one, I can't think after a loss...I can't write that on a script. I'm just not wired that way. So I just come in the locker room and whatever comes to my mind, we just flow."

"I like to keep it real with the guys. That's just the way we communicate," he says.

"When you give the players information that's going to help them perform better, that's your best chance. I like to focus more on inspiring these guys because I believe when you can give them something to inspire them, that lasts longer than the motivation," Coach Lynn continues. "I try to give them something that they can carry with them throughout the rest of the season."

"I just think you do it different ways. I don't think there's any cookie cutter way to do that," he adds.
