Guardian's of the Galaxy director fired for inappropriate tweets

To anyone who hasn't gotten the memo yet:  Be very careful about what you say online . . . because nothing is ever completely erased on the Internet, and it could come back to haunt you later in life.  BIG TIME.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" director JAMES GUNN just learned that lesson.  Over the weekend, Disney fired him from the upcoming third movie . . . when some controversial Tweets resurfaced.

They're mostly from 2008 and 2009 . . . and the most notable ones are dark, unfunny "jokes" involving deeply inappropriate topics like rape and pedophilia.  He made other satirical comments about the 9/11 attack, AIDS, and the Holocaust.

Basically, he was TROLLING to rile people up . . . and now that he's a famous DISNEY employee, there's a zero-tolerance policy for that kind of nonsense.

Most of the stuff I can't repeat . . . but here's an example of one of James' jokes:  Quote, "The best thing about being raped is when you're done being raped and it's like 'whew this feels great, not being raped!'"

Disney sacked him almost immediately . . . saying, quote, "The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James' Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with [our] values."

James has apologized and said the Tweets were "stupid."  He also said, quote, "When I started [my career], I viewed myself as a provocateur, making movies and telling jokes that were outrageous and taboo . .  I've developed as a person, so has my work and my humor . . . I used to make a lot of offensive jokes.  I don't anymore . . . Love you to you all."

James also felt the need to point out that even though he was making jokes about such evil subject matter, he's not actually a rapist or a pedophile.
