Apparently, Disney couldn't find anyone to take over the reins on"Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 3", because they caved and re-hired JAMES GUNN.
Disney fired James eight months ago after a series of offensive Tweets surfaced from about 10 years ago, where he joked about rape and pedophilia. At the time, James said, quote, "I used to make a lot of offensive jokes. I don't anymore."
Disney hasn't commented about the decision, but James Tweeted about it.
He said, quote, "I'm always learning, and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be. I deeply appreciate Disney's decision, and I'm excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all."
Word has it Disney decided to bring back James "months ago" after they had a series of "conversations" with him.
In the meantime, James picked up another gig directing the sequel to"Suicide Squad". So he'll finish that movie first, and then do"Guardians 3", which is probably at least three years away now.
