A Kentucky man won $450,000 in a lawsuit against his former employer after the company threw him a surprise birthday party against his wishes. Kevin Berling asked that Gravity Diagnostics not throw him a surprise birthday party -- as was the custom for all employees -- because he suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. Despite his wishes, the party was still held and Berling had a panic attack that soured his relationship with the company. The following day, he was called in for a meeting where his bosses "criticized" his reaction to the party, causing another panic attack. Eventually, Berling was fired after his employer alleged he was a danger to his co-workers. That prompted him to sue Gravity Diagnostics for disability discrimination and retaliation.

That's quite a birthday gift!!
