Johnny Depp made a triumphant return to the Cannes Film Festival.
The actor, who's been out of the spotlight since his 2022 libel trial with ex Amber Heard, received a seven-minute standing ovation Tuesday night at the premiere of Jeanne Du Barry.
According to Variety, "Depp held back tears as the crowd in the South of France erupted in prolonged applause for his performance as the King Louis XV. He waved to the audience in the balcony and seemed taken aback by the response."
The movie is Depp’s most high profile acting role since the trial.
